Prof. Dr. Mussaab Aljamal

Professor Dr. Mussaab Aljamal is a distinguished academic figure and one of the influential names in both the legal and political fields, having successfully combined extensive scholarly expertise with practical field experience. He was born in Kafr Nabudah in Hama Governorate in 1968 and received his undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Damascus in 1992. He then pursued a rich academic path, earning several advanced degrees, most notably a PhD in Criminal Sciences in 1997 on “The Crime of Murder Between Positive Law and Islamic Sharia”, and a second PhD in Constitutional Law and Political Systems in 2017 titled “The Concept of Constitution and Political Systems – A Foundational Study.” He also obtained specialized diplomas in public and private law, in addition to advanced studies in intellectual property and criminal psychology, giving him a multidimensional academic foundation.

Professionally, Dr. Aljamal has built a career spanning more than three decades. He worked at the University of Damascus as an Assistant Professor and later as a Full Professor, and also taught at the Judicial Institute of the Syrian Ministry of Justice. He held several judicial and military positions, including serving as a military judge and a commander in the military police during his mandatory service. In addition, he founded and managed pioneering academic institutions such as the Open Eastern Virtual Academy, which later evolved into International Suleiman University, where he currently serves as the General Supervisor. He also chairs the Board of Trustees of the International Justice College and heads the Legal Authority of the Syrian Revolution.

Dr. Aljamal is known for his prolific scholarly activity and academic supervision. He has published dozens of studies and research papers in criminal law, constitutional law, and international arbitration, along with encyclopedic works on Orientalism, family law, and arbitration. He has supervised master’s and doctoral theses across a wide range of topics, from criminal law to political science and international relations. His contributions are not limited to academia; he has also been a key speaker and participant in international conferences addressing strategic issues such as continuing education, digital transformation, regional security, and women’s empowerment.

Alongside his memberships in several professional and academic unions, including the Arab Writers and Journalists Union and the Arab Academics Union, Dr. Aljamal maintains a strong presence in scientific forums. He is widely recognized for combining deep legal scholarship with a strategic vision for the future of education and society. Thanks to his extensive contributions, he is regarded today as one of the prominent Arab academic figures who have helped build contemporary knowledge institutions and bridge scientific research with the needs of the Arab reality.
